History

“Results in real life is the only thing that counts. Theory makes me tired”. Mikkel Hindhede (1862-1945). The farmer behind the idea of catching signals automatically and by doing so monitor the deviation in cow behaviour is Aage Hindhede. His family has in 10 generations run a dairy farm and they have always been in front, when it came to new ideas. His old management system was based on informations from the parlour, but Aage wanted to know more about his animals and felt sure that deviations in behaviour are important. The animal does not change behaviour for no reason! Discussing his visions with people having high technical knowledge and practical skills brought the solution – CowDetect. Already during the test phase a value analysis was carried out by AgroTech. They concluded that the profit potential from knowing the real time position and behaviour of dairy cows could be stipulated to be EURO 318 – 357 per cow per annum.
